Cotton brocade on a plain weave cotton ground handwoven on a backstrap loom in three webs joined with cotton crocheted randas. Central panel totally geometric with openwork in shape of rhombs bordered on both sides with stars and lines to create the overall pattern. Navy blue on light blue. This is a contemporary piece.

For the most part the Amusgas (indigenous group) still wear their native costumes and the women of Xochistlahuaca, Guerrero are considered some of the best weavers in Mexico. Weaving is such an important part of a woman's life that when she dies she is buried in her favorite huipil and with her weaving tools.
