Factory made cotton cloth. This huipil was obviously influenced by the European blouses. The smocking and the lace around the arm holes point to this fact as well. Heavily embroidered in bright colors with floral and heart designs surrounded by small embroidered dots. Commercially made band borders arm holes. Mid- twentieth century.
The condition of this blouse is commensurate with age: tear on the neckline, spots on the lower part of the blouse, lace torn a bit, some yellowing of the cloth due to age.
