The two-story spiral tower featured here is peculiar with not much known of its origins. The tower is painted red with a blue interior and a yellow staircase winding up its side. Detailing of the stairs and brickwork is in black paint. Seven figures with painted clothing inhabit the tower: one on each of the two floors, two climbing the staircase, and three encircling the top of the roof. The figures are suspended by wire which connects through holes punched through the clay. Medrano was a master of color and this piece is no exception.
The tower is in excellent condition and makes a wonderful addition to any collection of ceramics by Candelario Medrano or other Mexican folk arts.
