This weathered, yet charming painting of St. Joseph holding the Christ child dates back to the late 19th Century. Painted with oil paints on tin with beautiful detailing and coloration, Joseph is crowned in gold in his position as the adoptive patriarch of the Holy Family.
The piece is severely blemished, primarily in the outer regions of the painting where the color has faded down to the original tin finish. Fortunately, the images of Joseph and the child have remained with much of their detail.
