This long-time pottery producing neighborhood in the city of Puebla made pieces mainly for daily use. Glazed black, artisans would make cazuelas such as this one in many different sizes according to the dish to be cooked. This area is known for their very large mole cazuelas. With thick clay walls and two handles this cazuela is decorated with their distinct dripped decoration. Early to mid-twentieth century.
