The large boat, sculpted by Candelario Medrano, is shaped somewhat like a football, the hull of the boat arched with two floors of interior decks.  The boat stands upright on eight decorative legs.  As is Medrano's style, the boat is painted with beautiful colors:   the bottom half of the boat is yellow and the top half is divided down the middle with blue and red.  The same colors repeat, with the addition of blue, throughout the interior.   The boat scene is inhabited by eight figures with painted clothes, some with hats.   A figure of the Virgin of Guadalupe looks over the crowd from one end, the highest point of the boat.  On the opposite end from the Virgin figure is perhaps the most intriguing feature of the boat: a pink figure that appears to be a large standing monkey.  Each of the figures is suspended by wire, connected to the boat through holes poked through the structure.

Boats were a common theme within the work of Candelario Medrano and this is a premier example.   Medrano is now deceased but several of his relatives continue working in his style.   The boat is in excellent condition.
